A Few Reviews...

We spent 5 days in this lovely property with a few family members on the occasion of our wedding. We were pleased by a lot of aspects of this rental. The first impression was more than positive : excellent communication with the owner and her manager. When we arrived, we were very impressed with the cleanliness of the house, considering it's huge and old. Old in a good way, cause every room offers superb furnitures, many antiques. The performant A/C was more than appreciated, cause it was super hot (90°F every day). Every bed was comfortable, with quality linens and pillows. The high ceilings were very impressive. In our opinion, the place is even more spectacular than the pictures showned. The place is more than well equiped, including Wi-Fi, Netflix, XBox, many good books... Keep in mind that the place is meant to keep its antique charms, so expect old bath and washbasins (but clean, once again). Personnaly, we found it awesome ! The owner makes sure her house receives all the good cares it needs and it shows. Thanks again for a wonderful stay that contributed to make our wedding magic !

My husband and I met our families at Magnolia house for a week long family reunion of sorts. It was an affordable option that allowed us to easily spend time at the beach while also having tons of space to relax together at the house and in the yard. We would simply hop on 76 E and park in a pay lot at Wrightsville Beach. We only had trouble finding parking one day, and it is because there was a surf competition on that section of the beach. It was also in a great spot for quickly getting downtown to explore. We had mostly adults (ages 22 - 62) and two small children (ages 7 months and 4). Everyone had a blast. The house was very well equipped for relaxing in the evenings - lots of games (epic games of Pictionary each night), a grill, a great back yard with a swing set (that even had an infant swing!) and an awesome kitchen with a huge dining room table. Beds were comfy and each bedroom/bathroom was unique. Great neighborhood for checking out neat o

We stayed at the Magnolia House in early July 2015 and we can't wait to return. We are history and architectural buffs, and were very excited to stay at the Magnolia House after reading reviews from previous tenants. The house sits on a private corner lot amongst beautiful historic homes and perfectly manicured gardens. We loved the facade of the house and box wood that led from the side walk to the steps of the front door. Once you step through the oversized entrance and front door, you are greeted by an enormous split stairway that leads to the second floor. The moldings are stunning and the ceiling height had to have been 11 ft. The ground floor has a formal living room, dining room, sitting room, kitchen and bathroom. All rooms are beautifully proportioned with original enormous windows and original details. The formal living room was so elegant and comfortable with an eclectic mix of antiques and contemporary furnishings and a large scale impressive original fireplace mantel but my favorite room was the kitchen. The kitchen was largely original but with modern updates. The cabinetry was beautiful and the farmhouse table in the center of the room was an excellent place for coffee and drinks. LOVED the stainless steel countertops! And the kitchen was very well stocked with wine glasses, cutlery, plates and cups along with cookware and all the appliances you would need. There are 2 sets of stairs to the second floor (one from the kitchen and one from the foyer). The second floor housed the 5 (YES 5!) bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. More fireplaces, high ceilings, moldings .. the list goes on! And the bathrooms … greek key tile, porcelain hexagons, subway tile, pedestal sink .. it's the quintessentially southern and well preserved details that make this house so special. Also loved the plush towels and high end bedding - this is important to us as frequent travels and a very thoughtful touch by the owner. Despite the elegance and stately nature of the home, our 5 children were comfortable and at ease, and particularly enjoyed the circular design of the home. They also enjoyed the backyard with the playset, swings and shade of the enormous magnolia tree. The manager was friendly and available.
